Unis Academy - Ableton Certified Trainer

Here is an in-depth review of my poor learning experience at Unis Academy. For anyone who wants to train towards being a VJ, find someone or somewhere else. It was one of the most mentally draining and worst learning experiences I’ve ever had. There was poor communication, poor time management, irresponsible behaviour, lack of accountability and extreme unprofessionalism. I studied the Video Jockey course online from May to September, which was meant to end in July/August. Because of the very long list of Cons, I’ve attached screenshots which explain everything. Paid lessons can provide good structure, but I’d recommend YouTube/online tutorials over Unis Academy’s Video Jockey course. Invest your money in a place that wants to and can invest it back into you. The course mostly felt like a waste of money, time and my mental energy. I barely got anything out of this course, but it showed me some basic VJ’ing tools. I can then practice and study what I was expecting to learn with a mentor, company or different tutors with significantly better delivery. I’m also surprised to see the five-star reviews here. Perhaps the academy had the capacity to teach to its full capabilities back then, and that’s why they received five-star reviews five to six years ago. It’s a shame that I didn’t get that after being kind, communicative and spending over a thousand euros of my career-development grant on this 1-to-1 course.
