Probably worst communication ever. I ask em about procedure and wait an answer. They answered next day with only 2 words. Also reply was wrong. I ask again and no reply. Then after I said “what kinda ridiculous communication is this” they simply answered again with 2 words and then said “have a nice day” instead of apologizing. What a joke

My Deep Plane Facelift Journey – March 2025
Back in March 2025, I underwent a combination of procedures: a deep plane face and neck lift, lip lift, upper blepharoplasty, and a brow lift. I wanted to share my experience for anyone considering similar surgery because I know how nerve wracking it can feel leading up to it.
Let me start by saying; my experience with Dr. Mehmet was absolutely perfect. He was so understanding, supportive, and reassuring throughout the entire process. I honestly can’t fault him in any way, he was (and still is) a total star. I felt completely confident in his hands, which made a world of difference. to this day he is still there when I need answers to my questions, so for that Dr Bey Cok mersi, ;-) you are a Top Gun in your field.
The surgery itself lasted around five hours, and the hospital aftercare was genuinely five-star. Everything was handled with exceptional professionalism, care, and warmth.
That said, I want to be honest about the emotional rollercoaster. About a day or two post-op, I had a moment of real regret. I remember thinking, “What have I done?” But this is completely normal and something I think everyone should be mentally prepared for. It’s a natural psychological reaction, you're swollen, bruised, uncomfortable, and emotionally raw. But please know: this stage passes. It’s temporary and not a reflection of the final outcome.
And I can’t write this without giving a big, heartfelt shout out to my amazing nurse, Rukiye, my little star, and of course Nazan. But Rukiye was always just a message or call away, offering reassurance, advice, and kindness when I needed it most. Even during Ramadan dinner, even though she was fasting she would answer her phone, wow just wow! Having that kind of support makes all the difference. Thank you, Rukiye, you were my rock.
Now, months later, I can confidently say that the results have been worth it. I look fresher, feel more confident, and I’m so glad I made the decision, even with that initial moment of doubt, so much so I am having a lower blepharoplasty next week. so I am looking forward to seeing my great team again :-). Life changing experience so far! I was a bit sceptical about the new generation doctors because of the popularity however Dr Gencer was super down to earth, professional, clear and sincere from the first appointment to post-op. I felt very safe, and amazed by his excellent presentation of my surgery plan.
I had lower bleph, forehead lift and a little cheek lift. I am on the younger side, so my surgery plan wasn’t super invasive. Recovery was very easy, the hospital and the team of nurses were great. Especially nurse Rukiye was so caring that I had zero pain after the surgery. Dr Gencer and Nurse Rukiye checked in with me many times until my third month of post op.
Acibadem Maslak has the greatest service. I had bruises in the first week only, and dimples until the month of 2. Now I am 1 year post-op and I can say that this procedure takes exactly one year to settle and show the final results. So please be patient for the first 8-10 months. (one day you love it, one day you hate it. Very typical with plastic surgery.)
In summary, I am very happy with my results. Dr Gencer is one of the best facial plastic surgeons in Istanbul. Hospital is amazing, pain management is taken very seriously. For the forehead lift, you must wait for a year to see the real results.
Lastly, please do your research and have a vision of your expectations.

Ameliyat sonrası bakım süreci de aynı şekilde harikaydı. Ağrım çok az olmasına rağmen, ağrı kesicilerle ve sürekli ilgiyle desteklendim. Kendimi yalnız ya da ihmal edilmiş hissetmedim; aksine sürekli güvende ve iyi bakıldığımı hissettim.
Şubat ayında kontroller için tekrar gideceğim ve bu da sürecin ne kadar sistemli ve profesyonel yürütüldüğünü gösteriyor.

I had been researching facelift surgeries for a long time. Since Dr. Mehmet is at the top in this field, I did not hesitate for a second to trust him with my face.
Even though it was a challenging surgery because of the small structure of my eyes and face, the result turned out to be amazing.
Because he always pursues a natural look, I felt completely confident in his professional skills and experience.
Thanks to his unique techniques, despite the small shape of my eyes, they looked bigger and more dynamic after the temporal lift—it’s crazy. He performed my surgery with his very own special technique, and honestly, there’s no other way I could have gotten such amazing results.
One important and risky issue for me was the asymmetry in my face since birth. Although I had concerns about this, on the contrary, Dr. Mehmet Gencer corrected the asymmetry to a certain degree, giving me a much more aligned eyebrow structure compared to before—I mean, he fixed it to a noticeable extent. I still have some asymmetry, but now it looks more natural, more human-like, and it actually suits me. After all, no human face can ever be 100% symmetrical, and full symmetry actually makes a face look unnatural and unpleasant.
Another point is that, although my skin usually scars very easily, thanks to his special techniques and stitching methods, I was left with almost no visible scars on my chin and behind my ears. I’m writing this at the 3-week post op.
The aftercare and planning were also excellent.
With his close follow-up, recovery was super fast and comfortable.
By the 10th day, when I went back to my new job, my look was so natural—yet with lifted eyes—that nobody suspected I’d had aesthetic surgery. Since they had never seen me before, most people actually thought the bruises were from a car accident or something rather than aesthetic surgery because of its natural look. To be honest, it’s not a simple surgery, so don’t expect it without bruises or swelling, but thanks to his special aftercare plan at the hospital, recovery was very fast. And I want to add that, although I didn’t expect to start working again by the 10th day because it’s such a major surgery, being able to do so was incredible for me.
Dr. Mehmet Gencer supported me the whole way through, guided me, and encouraged me for the best way regarding how this procedure should be done for my face. Thanks to his expertise, I was able to get the best results.
Other than that, his team was fantastic. Nurse Rukiye took great care of me from the very start to the finish, answering all of my questions—even in the middle of the night whenever I needed. His assistants also patiently and very kindly answered all of my questions throughout the whole process.
At first, I came across one or two comments about him online that made me worried, but then I realized those were just due to personal issues of the patients themselves, like past surgeries that required waiting for the right timing for the second surgery with him. Apart from that, as much as I researched, I didn’t see any of his patients with an abnormal or “alien-like” appearance—and this convinced me even more. That’s why I trusted my face to the top surgeon in this field without hesitation. I was happy from the very first day—and I’m still just as happy one month after surgery.
As an enthusiastic person I am, my expressions might be seen as exaggerated, but I can say that I got exactly the results I wanted—and I’m happy about it.
I am only 8 days post op and still recovering, but I can already see how incredible the results are going to be. Dr. Gencer is the best an exceptional surgeon at the top of his game. The nursing staff went above and beyond; they checked on me constantly, always making sure I was cared for, comfortable, and never alone. They were so attentive that they would bring my medication even before I thought to ask. Their kindness and genuine care made all the difference during my time in hospital .

Ich schreibe normalerweise keine negativen Bewertungen, aber in diesem Fall halte ich es für wichtig, meine Erfahrung zu teilen, es geht schließlich um den eigenen Körper, besonders das Gesicht. Jeder sollte wissen, worauf er sich einlässt, und sich nicht allein von positiven Bewertungen leiten lassen.
Ich bin über Instagram auf den Arzt aufmerksam geworden und habe mich am 15. Oktober 2024 einem Eingriff unterzogen (Temporallift, Midfacelift und Necklift). Das Ergebnis war für mich persönlich sehr enttäuschend: Mein Gesicht wirkte stark asymmetrisch, meine Augen unterschiedlich. Über acht Monate hinweg erhielt ich immer nur den Hinweis, ich solle massieren.
Nach dieser Zeit durfte ich am 13. Mai 2025 zur Nachkorrektur. Dabei hatte ich das Gefühl, dass das Team genervt war. Statt Verständnis zu zeigen, bekam ich den Eindruck, dass ich mich dankbar fühlen müsse, dass überhaupt eine Nachkorrektur vorgenommen wird. Welche Maßnahmen tatsächlich durchgeführt wurden, weiß ich bis heute nicht sichtbar geblieben ist eine deutliche Asymmetrie.
Zusätzlich hatte ich den Wunsch geäußert, eine vergrößerte Pore an der Stirn entfernen zu lassen.
Der Arzt wie immer selbstsicher meinte es sei gar kein Problem wird er machen …Danach bildete sich an dieser Stelle eine Beule. Auf Nachfrage wurde mir erneut nur geraten, zu massieren mein Hautarzt in Deutschland riet mir jedoch dringend davon ab. Schließlich musste er die Stelle öffnen, wo sich bereits ein Abszess gebildet hatte.
Mein Fazit: Für mich persönlich war die Behandlung sehr unbefriedigend. Ich hatte nicht nur ein ästhetisch schlechtes Ergebnis, sondern auch medizinische Probleme. Ich kann nicht nachvollziehen, wie die vielen positiven Bewertungen zustande kommen, und würde anderen raten, sich sehr genau zu informieren, bevor sie sich für diesen Arzt entscheiden.

I had surgery with dr Gencer 3 months ago. After a lot of research I chose him. His skills are beyond all other doctors I looked at , including europian doctors.Since I know for myself I had double chin. He totally changed my jaw line my neck and everything he touched. He did a wonderful work on me. His staff is also professional and especially his international assistant beautiful Nazan. I am 8 weeks post op from a deep plane face and neck lift, forehead and lip lift and lower blepharoplasty with skin pinch, I will update my review when I am 1 year post but so far my experience with Dr Gencer and his team has been amazing.
I flew out to see Dr Gencer last year for an in person consultation and he was polite, respectful, attentive and kind. I talked through what I felt could be improved with my face, he then added his opinions and was very easy going when I said I wanted to think about my options. He also showed me the healing process in all its gory detail so I knew that this wouldn't be a walk in the park and I was under no illusions I would be out and about within a couple of weeks looking like a super model. I then went home and reflected on his advice and booked for March of this year.
The booking process was very easy and Hulya who deals with his diary and new patients was very efficient, always responding quickly with information and was extremely helpful.
When I arrived in Istanbul for my surgery I was met with a private driver from Dr Gencer's clinic who took me to my hotel, this driver also took me to my pre op appointments, pharmacy needs, surgery day hospital trip, back to my hotel when I was discharged as well as back to the airport when I returned home.
The hospital Dr Gencer operates from is the most prestigious hospital in Istanbul, to operate there a surgeon must have completed a certain level of competency which reinforces further that you have one of the very best surgeons in Turkey carrying out your operation. It far surpasses any hospital in the UK in terms of comfort and cleanliness.
After my surgery I saw Dr Gencer every day and his wonderful nurses changed my dressings every morning, as well as the nurses in the hospital checking on me every 2 hours with ice packs, pain medication and antibiotics. Everyone there spoke perfect English. I stayed in hospital 3 nights, in England you are very lucky to even get 1 night in a hospital, very often being sent home the same to day to manage by yourself.
Once back at my hotel I was in constant contact with his aftercare nurse Nazan daily until 1 week after my surgery when I saw Dr Gencer for my stitch, staple and tape removal. I then received very welcome advice on HBOT, lymphatic drainage massages, red light therapy and vitamin supplements which I have followed and I feel has greatly aided me in the healing process.
The healing process I have to say has been very mentally tough, do not trust google on how long it takes to recover - I am following the rule of wait 3 months before you look properly in a mirror, 6 months before you even try to judge your results and 1 year before you can 100% say if you are happy or not. Being proactive in my recovery has been very helpful and I have been following all the advice Dr Gencer has given, please factor in the cost of doing those things as they are not cheap when considering surgery. Nazan has also been absolutely incredible answering my questions day and night, giving advice and making me send her regular pictures so she and Dr Gencer can check my scars (which are rapidly disappearing and in the case of round my ears - have disappeared already) and over all recovery.
As I am only 8 weeks out I can't really comment on my results yet, but my friends and family say I look 15 years younger and are all eager to book with Dr Gencer when the time comes - and some have in fact already booked consults with him.
Dr. Mehmet Gencer is a very courteous, helpful, and competent doctor who was able to explain everything to me in detail and provided thorough information—from the healing process to surgical details. Not istanbul prices more like Europe or American pricing. Feels like a money grab vs fair pricing i am sure some are OK with the less than they pay where they are from vs educating themselves on the average price for this surgery in the country and if his prices are in line with that or 2 or 3 times more.
Terrible communication—staff are unable to provide clear, complete answers. They rarely explain the "why" or "what," leaving patients confused and frustrated. The entire experience feels like a money trap, driven more by profit than care. Given the scale of their operations, the impersonal and almost inhuman treatment from both staff and doctors has completely eroded my trust in this clinic.
