This workshop was one of its kind - a MUST to do in Istanbul! Ilker was very prepared and carried us through it step by step, always encouraging (even when I felt I was slow and made mistakes) - he supplied us with many interesting facts about the history of carpet making and the different meanings of the patterns. He was wonderful company throughout it as well, telling us interesting facts about the turkish culture and idioms :) it was a great indoor activity to do especially now in winter! The studio is also beautiful filled with Turkish decor.

I had a lovely time in this rug weaving workshop! The host was easy to communicate (even before and after the experience), kind and welcoming. The workshop is worth trying, and I was really happy about the piece of rug I made. It became one of my good memories in Istanbul. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting the lively city of Turkey.

We booked the rug weaving workshop very last minute, and the host has been nothing but helpful and friendly during the process. We absolutely loved the experience! Hamza was wonderful as a teacher. My mother did not speak English very well so I was translating - Hamza was very patient and understanding with us both. I would 100% recommend it to anyone visiting Istanbul, it is such a unique and cool experience
So glad I booked this workshop - such a special way to round up my time in Istanbul. İlker was such a great host and really facilitated the workshop so well. The space is inviting, homey and since it’s a more intimate space you’re able to ask for help with ease and be guided well.
Very relaxing environment, and also educational - not just to learn how to create the woven carpet but we also got little tidbits of the history behind carpet weaving and how these workshops began. Personally I love connecting with locals and learning about their history, heritage and why they’re doing what they do now.
The class is well worth the price and then some! I didn’t read that it included snacks and drinks and just thought it was such a sweet gesture to include as well.
Couldn’t recommend this business any more! Please do support local businesses like this that are intentional and wholesome.

I reserved the handmade carpet workshop and it was an absolute blast. It is relaxing, fully guided and it makes you value the work behind all the handmade carpets you see arond. The best part is you bring home 2 nice souvenirs: the memory and the little carpet you make. This is a recommended experience if you have the possibility to include it in your itinerary!
The Turkish carpet weaving workshop was the highlight of my trip!! İlker was very helpful throughout the process and Hamza was a great guide/teacher! They provided tea and snacks and it was fun getting to know the other participants, as well as the history of Turkish carpet weaving. I’m looking forward to sharing my experience with my friends & family!

Hamsa is an great teacher and was engaging and fun, as well as very knowledgeable.
Enjoy tea and learn how to make a motif Turkish carpet on a loom.
